BTEC VRQ - Transporting Passengers by Taxi and Private Hire

Who is the course for?

The programme is designed to support and enhance the knowledge of existing or prospective drivers who wish to develop or begin a career in transporting passengers.

The course is classroom based and delivered to meet the needs of the driver/business. Sessions can be delivered, morning, daytime, evening, or even night-shift hours if necessary.

The Award

There are seven compulsory units. Drivers select either unit 4 or 5 according to location. The course will be delivered within your location and consists of:

Unit 1: Customer service for passenger transport

Unit 2: Passenger transport and equal opportunities

Unit 3: Passenger transport and disability awareness

Unit 4: Taxi & Private Hire regulation (UK) or

Unit 5: Taxi & Private Hire regulation (London)

Unit 6: Taxi and Private Hire safety

Unit 7: Taxi and Private Hire carriage of luggage and parcels

Unit 8: Basic topography and route planning

Drivers who complete this course will receive a nationally recognised certificate and progress onto our NVQ L2 Road Passenger Vehicle Driving work-based qualification.
